Social ResponsibiltyBotshabelo
Our Group believes uncompromisingly in the critical importance of a sound education in economic development and growth, from pre-school to tertiary and continuous learning. As such, it has made consistent contribution over the past number of years to initiatives aimed at the upliftment of previously disadvantaged groups by means of education and/or training. Primarily, investment has been made to Botshabelo, a base serving as the centre of excellence providing critical support and resources for community work in Olievenhoutbosch and selected other communities in Midrand. St Augustine’s LEAP Schools LEAP Science and Mathematics School is a leading education organisation operating six high schools in Gauteng, Western Cape and Limpopo for high school students (Grade 9-12). The institution places a strong emphasis on science, maths and English, as well as emotional development to groom its learners into young leaders and agents of positive change in their communities. A proportion of annual turnover will continue to be reserved for this school for the foreseeable future. Key outcomes of this initiative include empowerment, skills development and rural development, with an obvious emphasis on black youth. |
“Learning starts in infancy, long before formal education begins, and continues throughout life. Early learning begets later learning and early success breeds later success, just as early failure breeds later failure.” "We cannot afford more lost generations." |
